The final workshop of the NanoDC project was held on the 19th of December 2014, at Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra.
The participants had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and perspectives on the use of nanoparticles for soil remediation, from the synthesis of nanoparticles to the degradation mechanisms of persistent organic pollutants and enhancement of biological removal of pollutants. Relevant ecotoxicological effects of introducing nanoparticles in soils were also addressed, and a pilot-scale remedial action of a contaminated site using nanoparticles was presented.
The sessions were chaired by team members Licínio Gando-Ferreira (University of Coimbra) and Gustav Loch (University of Utrecht). more
